Wine. Dine. Donate.: A DIY Charity Wine Dinner

Always wanted to go to one of those fancy pants charity wine dinners, but funds and/or schedule didn’t allow? No worries, now you can throw your own! Check out Wine.Dine.Donate at epicurious.com. Here you have menus, recipes, invites, placecards, and everything you need to throw a fancy dinner party at home. Just invite your friends and tell them to bring a suggested donation. Or get them liquored up and break out the laptop and the credit cards; you can donate on line too! Post pictures of your event and share stories with other on-line hosts as you do your part to ensure that no needy kid goes hungry this season.

AND…(special offer here folks!) The person who emails me with the largest guaranteed donation by Sept 15th, will get my services as their personal sommellier for the evening. I will bring wine for up to 10 people to your party, especially paired to your elegant menu and serve it up with style. winedivaent@msn.com. Restrictions n stuff apply. See below.

Or if you’re not the cooking type, you can still participate! Come to Sean McClain’s WDD dinner at Custom House on Oct 24th. Reservations are available online. Doesn’t get any easier than that.

Restrictions and fine print:

Donation must be proven in some way mutually agreed upon by host and Winediva. Host location must be in the Chicago area. Host venue must be free of all pets due to a nasty allergy. Date must be approved by Winediva at least one month in advance and is subject to Winediva availability. Host assumes all liabilty for serving alcohol to their guests. Event must take place before March 1st 2007.
