For all you parents with little gouls to escort around the neighborhood, I offer some lovely hot n boozey combos to put in your travel mug. One note – heat up your coffee, cider, etc first and then add booze to your cup. DO NOT HEAT LIQUID AND BOOZE ON THE STOVE. Ok, seriously. Don’t set the kitchen on fire and ruin Halloween for the whole family. Trick or treating at the ER is a drag.
Coffee is a natural pair with many liquors and spirits. Decaf is fine if you’re afraid the candy/caffiene combo will be too much for you.
Try your java with a dash of:
Irish Whiskey, Bailey’s Irish Creme, Amaretto di Sarrano, Kahlua, Godiva chocolate, or Grand Marnier. Mmmmm….
Another good base drink is hot chocolate – I’m a big fan of the Vosges Mexican blend, but even stuff in a powder is OK.
Good additions include:
Bailey’s Irish Creme, Peppermint schnapps, and Amaretto
My favorite hot n boozey treat is a nice warm apple cider. Feel free to spice it up with some cinnamon, cloves, and allspice OR…
Cinnamon schnapps, Brandy, Rum, or Butterscotch schnapps.
So remember, a travel mug is just a sippy cup for grown ups. Enjoy it as such.
